COZONI Solid Oak Care Instructions
At COZONI, our solid oak furniture is crafted for lasting beauty and everyday living. Each piece is designed for indoor use and intended purposes only.
Finished with Osmo Oil
Our solid oak products are finished with Osmo oil, a premium wood finish known for its durability, natural appearance, and eco-friendly composition.
Unlike traditional varnish or polyurethane coatings, Osmo oil is a blend of natural oils and waxes that penetrates deeply into the wood fibers while forming a protective, breathable surface. This enhances the oak’s natural grain and texture while providing long-lasting protection.
Everyday Care Guidelines
Placement & Environment
-
Do not place furniture near heating or cooling sources, as temperature fluctuations may cause the timber to split.
-
Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to prevent discoloration.
-
Ensure at least a 25mm gap around the piece to allow proper airflow.
Moving & Handling
-
Never drag your furniture. Always lift when moving to protect both the piece and your flooring.
-
We kindly recommend lifting and handling oak chairs with care during use. Solid wood is a natural material and is not as impact-resistant as laminated materials. Dropping the chair or allowing it to fall to the ground may cause damage or breakage.
Cleaning & Maintenance
-
Dust regularly with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth.
-
Wipe spills immediately using a slightly damp, soft cloth, following the direction of the wood grain.
-
Remove sticky residue with a diluted solution of warm water and natural soap, then wipe clean with a damp cloth.
-
Always dry the surface immediately with a soft cloth in the direction of the grain.
-
Never use a soaking wet cloth.
-
For deeper cleaning, Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner may be used.
-
Avoid placing hot objects directly on the timber surface; always use coasters or placemats.
Natural Characteristics of Solid Oak
-
As a natural material, solid timber may develop hairline cracks. This is a feature of genuine wood and does not affect the structural integrity or functionality of your furniture.
-
Over time, solid oak will naturally change color as part of the aging process.
-
To ensure even aging, regularly rearrange items placed on the surface.
Annual Care & Re-Oiling
To maintain the timber’s natural tone and protective barrier, we recommend renewing the finish annually:
-
Lightly sand the surface using fine-grit sandpaper.
-
Ensure the surface is clean and dust-free.
-
Apply Osmo 3062 oil evenly using a clean, soft cloth.
-
Allow the surface to dry completely before use.
With proper care, your COZONI solid oak furniture will continue to age beautifully and remain a timeless feature in your home for years to come.
COZONI Oak Veneer Care Instructions
At COZONI, our oak veneer furniture is thoughtfully crafted to deliver the warmth and beauty of natural timber with everyday practicality. These care instructions apply to all COZONI oak veneer products.
All pieces are designed for indoor use and intended purposes only.
Finished with Lucero Oil
Our oak veneer products are finished with Lucero Oil, a premium low-VOC natural finish that offers an ideal balance of beauty and protection.
Lucero is made from a blend of natural plant oils, including sustainably sourced tung oil, making it safe for your home and environmentally conscious. The finish provides a low-sheen, natural appearance that enhances the timber’s unique tones and textures—similar to the refined look of a traditional hand-rubbed polish.
